He moved to the US in 1999 from Mexico City. In 2012 his love of nature led him to a Bonsai trade show. Shortly after, he started experimenting with the art of Bonsai. Jhonathan draws inspiration from finding trees in poor condition and revitalizing them into Bonsai. The process is tedious, but the results are beautiful.

This art form is derived from an ancient Chinese horticultural practice, part of which was then redeveloped under the influence of Japanese Zen Buddhism.
